Almost every woman at 40 feels like 40 is the new 20 or 30 and most of them don’t regret a thing but if they could rewind to when they were in their 30s, some things could have been done differently.  Here are 20 brutally honest things women turning 40 want all women in their 30s to know:

1. Love and accept yourself – fully
Accept the good and bad parts of yourself at a younger age in order to avoid making too many wrong decisions in life. Once you know who you really are and begin to truly love and accept yourself inside, there’s a much higher probability of maintaining healthy relationships.

2. Feed your soul
Make sure you feed your soul with what inspires you despite your passion, or whatever you enjoy in life. If you are not sure what your passion is, try new things, find different activities until you find a few that give you that feeling of warmth, freedom and acceptance inside.

3. Forgive yourself and others
Don’t spend your life being bitter and angry about a few events that happen to you. Once Realize that holding unforgiveness towards others and myself for past mistakes halts happiness and change.

4. Tell yourself the truth
Stop pretending with others to the point you pretend to yourself. Constantly remind yourself of your wrongs and try to improve as much as you can.

5. Live to work, not work to live
Try a myriad of different jobs when you’re younger or researched a lot of different careers and choose one that fits best. The perfect decision makes you someone in the workforce that truly lives to work because they love their career of choice.

6. Stop Comparing
Comparing your life to your best friend or to someone’s life on Facebook is detrimental. This does nothing but bring your own self-worth down. Stop it! There will always be someone who is smarter, prettier or better off than you, accepted that.

7. Stop caring what others think of you
Don’t be concerned with what others think of you that. Don’t do things for others because you think that’s what they want to hear or what they want you to do. Live life with right motives instead of wrong ones. Be yourself and forget caring about other people.
8. Embrace Change
Don’t think things are not predictable, stable or they stay the same. When you’re confronted with numerous changes at the same time,  try to handle it well. Be able to embrace change and know that life can take a variety of different turns.

9. No is a complete sentence
Feel free to say no. Try not to say yes all the time to make everyone happy. It is impossible. You don’t have to justify your no or explain the situation so the other person will feel better. The older you get, the more you’d realize that no is a complete sentence and do not have to be justified.

10. Think long and hard before you say ‘I do’
Know what you want, desire and deserve in a mate. It is so easy to get caught up in the feelings and emotions of relationships. Consider the time invested with that person and if you don’t see longevity in your current relationship or you have too many “if onlys” with that person, then you might not be with your ideal mate. It’s much easier to end things with someone before they get too serious. If you have reservations about certain things in your relationship or you want to change core aspects of the personality of your partner, it is probably best to move on.
