Resident Doctors Call Off 5-Day Old Strike

The strike action embarked upon by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) which lasted for five dayshas been called off.

Mohammed Askira, the President of the association signed a statement in which the group said the strike which they embarked on had as it aim to protest the the non-payment of 10 months salaries of some of its members, was called off due to the hardship faced by Nigerians since the strike action started.

The Federal Government threatened the striking doctors on Tuesday June 21st, as it ordered the replacement of any resident doctor who failed to show up for work the following day.

While charging the Federal Government to keep to their agreement and implement it before July 14th, the President of the association said they will resume work fully on Monday, June 27th.
