Students of University of Ibadan came out en masse in one happens to be one of its most crowded protest in recent times.
The students are protesting the sudden death of fellow student Mayowa Alaran (pictured) who passed out during a UEFA Champions League match between Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona on Wednesday, May 6th. The 200level student was the rushed to the school clinic at Jaja. The nurses on duty refused to attend to the dying student demanding for his clinic card and a bribe. The student died shortly after.
We hear the school’s main gate has been locked by the school admin so the protest won’t hit the street but some say the gate has been broken and the protest is still on.
Apparently, this won’t be the first time a student will die from such circumstance.
