8 days from today, Reminisce will release his third studio album tagged Baba Hafusa. The album follows his first two highly rated albums Book Of Rap Stories and Alaga Ibile.

Reminisce is one of the few Nigerian rappers that’s been able to make multimillion Naira from indigenous rap music. We take a look at 5 reasons why the album is very important for his genre of music this year especially.

Many may say it is too early to tell but the effect indigenous rap content has on Nigerian rap music has reduced in the past months and may reduce even further if Reminice’s forth coming doesn’t meet a critical acclaim. The last two indigenous albums released in the country has ended up at mediocre as best.

During this time, Olamide released the worst album of his career yet, Street OT while Phyno joined him to release 2 Kings which has been rated poorly by both set of fans (Yoruba and Igbo).

Stylist, Sarah Ofili famously demanded Phyno refund the money she spent in purchasing the album as only 1 of the 10 tracks is worth another spin. The last indigenous rap music we see top the chart is Reminisce’s Tesojue released more than 8 months ago. His album has to bridge this gap by turning out smashing hit singles…
