According to BBC Africa, President Jonathan’s convoy was attacked in Yola, Bauchi state today.
A convoy of vehicles carrying the Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, has been stoned by people accusing the government of failing to stop the advance of the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram. The windows on several vehicles were broken before police used tear gas and whips to disperse the crowd. The attack happened in the eastern city of Yola, where Mr Jonathan was campaigning ahead of next month’s presidential election.
