Very cold news coming from the on-going commonwealth games. It is being reported that 16 year old Nigerian weightlifter Chika Amalaha has been stripped of her Commonwealth Games gold medal after failing her second doping test. She won the 53-kilogram division last week making her the youngest ever female to win a weightlifting title at a Commonwealth Games but unfortunately a few days later, she tested positive for diuretics and masking agents.
The Commonwealth Games Federation announced today Friday August 1 that her B sample also showed traces of the substances amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide, both of which are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
