FUTA first class graduate and 5 others arrested over Internet Fraud

A first class graduate of Federal University of Technology, Akure FUTA was arrested for internet fraud by the Police Special Fraud Unit, PSFU, Lagos State, over internt scam.

Fajobi Olalekan and his 5 friends, Asaolu Victor, a graduate of Mining Engineering from FUTA, Awote Temitope Emmanuel, a 500 level Estate Management student of FUTA, and Adebomi Oluwatosin, a graduate.

The suspects were nabbed following a petition received by the Special Fraud unit from the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, last August, that a website designed as ‘OFID Scholarship Website’ (OPEC Fund for International Development for World Student Aid Scholarship) with OFID name and logo is being used to defraud unsuspecting Nigerian applicants.

Their specialization is designing fake websites of major organizations to defraud people. The 6 of them have since confessed to being criminals
