On sunday, the 29th of September, your favorite Nollywood stars graced the stage for the pilot of Kingsley Ogoro’s Nollywood Sings. The audience was pleasantly surprised by most of the hidden talent in Nollywood. The show kicked off with Sunny Nneji gracing the stage to perform a beautiful love song called ‘the way you are’. Then the contestants performances rolled in. Jetta Amata wowed us with his rendition of ‘Alice’. While the audience was still reeling from this surprise the beautiful Omoni Oboli stunned them with her performance of Onyeka Onwenu’s ‘One love’. Then the delectable Toyin Aimakhu brought the house down and upped the ante when she sang Tiwa Savage’s ‘O ma ga’… Fred Amata brought along his comedic side when he did a mash up of Bright Chimezie’s ‘Police’ and Davido’s ‘Skelewu’. Joseph Benjamin had the ladies screaming to revive him when he came on stage and crooned out the Fugees’ version of ‘Killing me softly’. Kate Henshaw gave a stellar rendition of ‘Rise’ by Gabrielle and even got an offer for a record deal. Segun Arinze impressed us with his suave and charismatic performance of Michael Buble’S ‘Home’… Executive Producer Charles Novia gave an energetic and thrilling performance of Majek Fashek’s ‘Holy Spirit’. The judges didnt sugar-coat anything and said it as they saw it. It was an all round high and an amazing spin-off to what promises to be a star studded reality show aimed at capacity building and impacting on Generation ‘Next’. Its a Kingsley Ogoro brainchild that plans to both entertain and educate all at the same time.
