Prisoners Have Rights Too! Watch Human Rights Activist Victor Fakunle’s Insightful Speech At The HRF’s Take It Back Launch

In this part of the world, the prisoners go through a whole lot, ranging from inhumane treatment to late/failed court hearing and other things. Just when everybody else is busy with something else, one Nigerian stands out to fight for the right of the people behind bars… his name is Victor Fakunle.
Victor Fakunle is a man with a profound compassion. Having grew up as a regular kid in Lagos, he had problems at some point in his life and got locked up and when he got out, he got the inspiration to fight for the plight of inmates. Victor decided to set up a charity and human rights organisation called “Human Rights Foundation”. He explains that this project is aimed at seeing into advocating the rights of ex-offenders and disadvantaged people affected by the criminal justice system regardless of class, religion or societal preference. His project HRF has also been making legal backing and representation for inmates since it’s inception in 2002. In this video he also talks about commencing a reality show which will feature the inmates from various prisons within the Lagos state as he explains that Lagos state is the pilot state for the project. He also further stresses that thge project would bring back dignity to the prisoners and also give them a sense of belonging in the society. This project is themed ”Take It Back”.
